Why Using an American Express Card Instead of Our Regular Bank Card

I just want to share something that really helped me and will help others too, something I wish I discovered earlier.

For decades, I always used my regular bank card in France. Alam mo na, simple debit card, automatic sa payroll, walang inaalala. But after a while, me and my family, we realized… wala naman siyang binabalik sa atin at may monthly fee pa. No rewards, no perks, no protection.

Parang… sayang. Ginagamit mo araw-araw, pero walang in return kung baga.

Then I Found Amex

I keep seing American Express ads sa metro, inside the malls. At first, I thought: “Ay, pang-mayaman lang ‘yan.” But I looked into it. Ang daming klaseng Amex cards and some of them are perfect for everyday people like me. At first I applied with the Gold Card and went up to The Platinum Card gradually.

So I applied for the Gold Card, got approved, and used it for my usual spending. So groceries, sa mga bills, sa online purchases (Amazon, Temu, ect...), even booking trips and every institution that accept AMEX.

And I couldn’t believe the difference.

What Changed?

• I started getting rewards for things I was already buying monthly.

• My purchases were protected, like nag book ako ng rental car, may nasira, and they refunded it.

• I felt more secure traveling — may travel protection, may lounge access pa (On the Platinum Card).

Hindi ako nagbago ng lifestyle. I just changed stop using my normal bank card and used Boursorama instead para walang monthly fee. Pero ang laki ng impact.

It’s About the Perks…

For me, it's about feeling like may kasama ako na card that gives me Points Reward.
I know eventually maka book ako ng ticket to The Philippines or we can go dinner to a Michelin Restaurant for 200€ paid by AMEX.
